MUSIC TUITION

Mahaliah is a strong believer in high quality music education for everyone. She delivers bespoke music tuition for violin students of a range of abilities from beginner to advanced, starting from age 4+.

Using various pedagogical approaches, her teaching incorporates many musical skills including reading stave notation, developing a musical aural awareness as a base in order to help each student achieve their musical aspirations. Mahaliah focuses on maintaining a positive and imaginative learning environment enabling any student of any ability or age to excel in their lessons and practice at home.

From graded exams to playing for fun, Mahaliah puts the student at the centre of their musical education and tailors lessons to each individual's needs and goals. Furthermore, Mahaliah's teaching repertoire encompasses music of diverse origins and provenances and promotes the love of all music to every  student.

Mahaliah has significant experience teaching online using Zoom as she spent a year teaching violin online to children in Soweto, SA through ARCO - a joint project established in 2015 between the string department of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Cape Gate MIAGI (Music is a Great Investment) Centre for Music, recently renamed Morris Isaacson Centre for Music.

In addition to violin tuition, Mahaliah teaches music theory and beginner's piano lessons. She also provides extra tutoring for GCSE Music (Edexcel).

• Mahaliah is an ISM Registered Private Teacher and a member of the Music Teachers' Association. 

• Mahaliah follows the ISM Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy and also adheres to guidances such as the Education Act (2002), Keeping children safe in Education (2019).

• Mahaliah has completed Safeguarding in Music Education Training (2019-2021)

• Mahaliah has over 5 years teaching experience with adults, children and young people,  music institutions and school extra curricular groups.

• Mahaliah typically teaches at students' homes and is able to drive to your chosen location.
